The Database on Particular Policy Issues was established during the year 2004-2005 to trace the historical development of policy issues and provide hyperlinks to related documents, so as to facilitate retrieval of information, and cross-referencing of previous decisions and discussions in various committees of the Council. When the Database was put on the LegCo Website on 1 March 2005, only a total of 128 topics were available for public access. Over the years, the number of topics has already doubled.
