    RP01/96-97 Study of Housing Demand Model

    This research discusses the housing demand model, which is a planning tool for estimating future housing demand based on the prevailing housing policy. The model comprises four steps, which are: (a) projection of total housing needs, (b) categorization of housing needs into public and private housing, (c) derivation of housing demand from the sectoral housing needs, and (d) estimation of sectoral flat production requirements.

    RP05/96-97 A Study on LPG as a Fuel for Vehicles

    This research provides information on the usage of liquefied petroleum gas ("LPG") in vehicles including taxis in overseas places. It covers the restrictions on the usage of LPG in vehicles, the safety aspects and difficulties in travelling on steep slopes and mountainous areas, the accident rates and the circumstances involved, and the comparison of costs and environmental impacts.

    RP06/96-97 Overseas National Information Infrastructure Policies

    This research provides an overview of the development of the National Information Infrastructure ("NII") policies in overseas places and examines the implications of having a NII policy in Hong Kong. It covers the general background of NII and the objectives behind the NII policies, the role played by the government and various bodies associated with the development of the NII policies, a more detailed account of the NII policies of different places, and a summary of the overseas experience in NII and a brief analysis of developing a NII policy in Hong Kong.
