Programmes catering for the needs of the minority ethnic groups in Hong Kong provided by domestic free TV licensees included Japanese programmes and Korean programmes on the English channels.
The domestic pay television programme service licensees included whole channels broadcast in foreign languages, for example, in Hindi (Zee TV), Japanese (NHK), Korean (Arirang TV), French (TV5 Monde), German (Deutsche Welle TV), Spanish (TVE), Portuguese (RTPI), Urdu (Indus Plus & Indus Vision) and Tagalog (Filipino).
On radio, programmes in Tagalog, Hindi and Indonesian were provided by the licensees.
