ITEM FOR FINANCE COMMITTEE

RECOMMENDATION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS SUBCOMMITTEE
ON NON-AIRPORT CORE PROGRAMME

On 12 June 1996, the Public Works Subcommittee (PWSC) considered PWSC Paper No. PWSC(96-97)19 "New item - Government facilities for the Second Runway of the New Airport at Chek Lap Kok ". The PWSC recommended to Finance Committee the inclusion of a new item as 115AA in Category A of the Public Works Programme, entitled 'Government facilities for the Second Runway of the New Airport at Chek Lap Kok ', at an estimated cost of $602 million in money-of-day prices. The relevant paper has previously been forwarded to all Members for consideration by the PWSC and is therefore not enclosed.

2. Members are invited to approve the PWSC recommendation.
