ELECTION OF THE PRESIDENT

The Member Presiding announced that only one valid nomination for the office of the President of the Council had been received and the nominee was Mr. Andrew WONG.

As there were no other nominations, the Member Presiding declared that Mr. Andrew WONG had been elected President of the Council.

The President then took the chair and addressed the Council.

The President suspended the sitting at 10:40 a.m.

The Council resumed at 2:30 p.m.

ADDRESS BY THE GOVERNOR

The Governor addressed the Council.

The President suspended the sitting at 4:36 p.m.

The Council resumed at 2:30 p.m. on 12 October 1995.

GOVERNOR’S QUESTION TIME

The Governor attended the Council and received questions on matters arising from his policy address.

Twelve Members asked questions and the Governor replied.

NEXT SITTING

In accordance with Standing Orders, the President adjourned the Council until Wednesday, 18 October, 1995.

Adjourned accordingly at twenty-seven minutes to four o’clock.
