Meeting to elect the Chairman and Deputy Chairman

1. As both the Chairman and Deputy Chairman in office were unable to attend this meeting due to other urgent commitments, Mr Martin LEE was elected to chair the meeting in accordance with the Finance Committee Procedures.

Election of Chairman

2. Mr Martin LEE invited nominations for the Chairman. Mr YEUNG Sum was nominated by Mr Ronald ARCULLI and seconded by Mr LEE Wing-tat and Miss Margaret NG. The meeting noted that Mr YEUNG had indicated acceptance of the nomination.

3. There being no other nomination, Mr YEUNG Sum was declared elected as Chairman of the Finance Committee for the 1996-97 session.

Election of Deputy Chairman

4. Mr Martin LEE invited nominations for the Deputy Chairman. Mr CHAN Kam-lam was nominated by Mr Ronald ARCULLI and seconded by Mr IP Kwok-him and Mr Henry TANG. The meeting noted that Mr CHAN had indicated acceptance of the nomination.

5. There being no other nomination, Mr CHAN Kam-lam was declared elected as Deputy Chairman of the Finance Committee for the 1996-97 session.

Date of Next Meeting

6. Mr Martin LEE advised members that the next meeting of the Committee would be held on Friday, 25 October 1996 at 2:30 p.m.

The meeting ended at 2:10 p.m.
