I.Election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman

Members agreed that Mr James TIEN Pei-chun should preside over the election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman. Mr James TIEN Pei-chun invited nominations for the Chairman. Mr Ronald ARCULLI was nominated by Mr YEUNG Yiu-chung and seconded by Mrs Peggy LAM. Mr ARCULLI accepted the nomination.

2.There being no other nomination, Mr Ronald ARCULLI was declared Chairman of the Subcommittee.

3.Mr James TIEN Pei-chun invited nominations for the Deputy Chairman. Dr LAW Cheung-kwok was nominated by Mr James TIEN Pei-chun and seconded by Mrs Elsie TU. Dr LAW accepted the nomination.

4.There being no other nomination, Dr LAW Cheung-kwok was declared Deputy Chairman of the Subcommittee.

II.Any other business

5.As suggested by the Chairman, members agreed that the Administration should be invited to brief members on the salient features of the Mandatory Provident Fund System before the relevant subsidiary legislation was introduced into the Provisional Legislative Council in November. The Clerk advised that members would be informed of details of the briefing sessions after arrangements had been worked out with the Administration. Clerk
