Dear Dr. LEONG,

Thank you for your approval for the request I made last Wednesday and agreeing to discuss at a House Committee meeting issues arising from the President ' s ruling that my amendment to Hon LAU Kong-wah ' s motion was disallowed.

As regards the specific points to be discussed, I suggest that Members should focus the discussion on how the Provisional Legislative Council Secretariat can liaise with the Member concerned after the President has ruled against a motion or an amendment he may wish to move, and how to assist, if possible, the Member in revising his proposed amendment.

I have no objection to discussing other relevant issues raised by the Chairman or other Members.
