RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE ESTABLISHMENT SUBCOMMITTEE


At the Enclosure is a summary of the recommendations of the Establishment Subcommittee (ESC).

2. Agenda items EC(98-99)19, 23 to 31, and 33 were recommended by ESC at its meetings on 10 February 1999 and 11 February 1999 respectively. On EC(98-99)29, the Administration revised the proposal to retaining a supernumerary post of Administrative Officer Staff Grade C (D2) for nine months with effect from 1 April 1999, which the ESC endorsed. The relevant papers considered by the ESC have previously been forwarded to all Members and are therefore not enclosed.

3. Members are invited to approve the ESC recommendations.

4. The up-to-date position of the establishment of directorate posts in the civil service is as follows -

  3. the creation of the following permanent posts -

    to be offset by the deletion of the following permanent posts -

    2 Senior Deputy Registrar, High Court

    subsequent to a review of the establishment of Deputy Registrar, High Court in the Master's Office, their portfolios and levels of responsibilities.

  1. for a period of two years -

    to head the Railway Development Office and its new Railway Division (2) and Technical Services Division respectively.
