ITEM FOR FINANCE COMMITTEE
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PUBLIC WORKS SUBCOMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMME AND CAPITAL SUBVENTION PROJECTS
At Enclosures 1 and 2 are summaries of remaining two of the recommendations of the Public Works Subcommittee (PWSC) made at its meeting on 28 April 1999 and one of the recommendations of the PWSC made at its meeting on 12 May 1999 respectively. The relevant papers considered by the PWSC have previously been forwarded to all Members and are therefore not enclosed.
2. With regard to Enclosure 2, PWSC Members agreed that the recommendation on 653CL be submitted to the Finance Committee for approval at this meeting earlier than the normal date for 4 June 1999 so that we can plan to enter into an entrustment agreement with the Cyberport developer in June 1999. The entrusted works will start as soon as possible thereafter for completion in phases from mid 2001 to early 2002. The rest of the PWSC's recommendation made at its meeting on 12 May 1999 will be submitted to the Finance Committee for approval on 4 June 1999.
3. Members are invited to approve the PWSC recommendations.
