RECOMMENDATION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS SUBCOMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMME AND CAPITAL SUBVENTION PROJECTS

On 14 April 1999, the Public Works Subcommittee (PWSC) considered PWSC Paper No. PWSC(1999-2000)4 "61GI - Government Institution Community accommodation in development at Fanling/Sheung Shui Town Lot 195, area 19, Luen Wo Hui, Fanling". The PWSC recommended the upgrading of 61GI to Category A at an estimated cost of $67.6 million in money-of-the-day prices. Members of PWSC also agreed that its recommendation on 61GI be submitted to the Finance Committee for approval at this meeting earlier than the normal date of 7 May 1999 due to an urgency to invite tenders for the disposal of the subject site on which 61GI is located. Paper PWSC(1999-2000)4 has previously been forwarded to all Members for consideration and is therefore not enclosed.
