The Secretary for Health and Welfare has appointed 1 June 1999 as the day on which section 11(2)(a) of the Food and Drugs (Composition and Labelling) (Amendment) Regulation 1996 (the Amendment Regulation) shall come into operation.

Section 11(2)(a) of the Amendment Regulation amends Schedule 4 of the Food and Drugs (Composition and Labelling) Regulations (Cap. 132 sub. leg.) by repealing two items, namely, deep frozen (including quick frozen) food and any food which can reasonably be expected to retain its specific properties for more than 18 months.

The Secretary for Home Affairs has appointed 26 February 1999 as the day on which the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Ordinance (Cap. 1157) (the Ordinance) is to come into operation.

The Ordinance was enacted in 1995 to incorporate the Province of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui as a body corporate under the name of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui and to provide for its constituents and the powers and duties and for incidental matters. The Province of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui has only been established on 25 October 1998.

The Secretary for Home Affairs has appointed 26 February 1999 as the day on which the Church Body of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Ordinance (Cap. 1158) (the Ordinance) is to come into operation.

The Ordinance was enacted in 1995 to constitute the body corporate known as The Church Body of the Chinese Anglican Church in Hong Kong under the name of the Church Body of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, to provide for the constitution, powers and duties of the Church Body of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, and to repeal the Chinese Anglican Church Body Incorporation Ordinance.

The Secretary for Home Affairs has appointed 26 February 1999 as the day on which the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Foundation Ordinance (Cap. 1159) (the Ordinance) is to come into operation.

The Ordinance was enacted in 1995 to continue the corporation sole called The Bishop of Victoria, Hong Kong as a body corporate under the name of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Foundation, to provide for the constitution, powers and duties of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Foundation, and to repeal the Bishop of Victoria Incorporation Ordinance.

The Secretary for Security has appointed 2 March 1999 as the day on which the Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (New Zealand) Order (L.N. 376 of 1998) (the Order) is to come into operation.

The Order had been studied by a sub-committee of the House Committee of the Legislative Council and was approved by a resolution of the Legislative Council on 9 December 1998.
