Chinese Medicine Ordinance
Chinese Medicine Ordinance (47 of 1999) (Commencement) Notice 1999 (L.N. 214)

This Notice appoints 6 August 1999 as the day on which sections 1 to 50 (except sections 7(a)(ii), 9(a), 18(a)(ii), 20(a), 35(a)(ii), 37(a) and 40(2)), 112, 113, 154, 157, 159 and 161 and Schedules 1 to 5 of the Chinese Medicine Ordinance (47 of 1999) shall come into operation.

Sections 1 to 50 provide for the establishment and meetings of The Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong, The Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board, The Chinese Medicines Board and their respective Committees. The excepted provisions relate to the disciplinary orders made by the Practitioners Board under section 98. Sections 112 and 113 deal with the application and amendment of Schedules 1 and 2, which list out those Chinese herbal medicines that are subject to restrictions on sale or possession. Sections 154, 157, 159 and 161 are general provisions on disclosure of confidential information, delegations, notices and regulations. Schedules 3, 4 and 5 set out functions of the different Boards and Committees and the delegation of such functions.

Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Ordinance (Amendment of Schedule) Order 1999 (L.N. 215)

This Order amends the Schedule to the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Ordinance (Cap. 419) to reflect the change of name of the Hong Kong College of General Practitioners. The College has been recognized by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine as an academy college as regards its specialty.
