Views sought on Revenue Bill 1999

The Legislative Council Bills Committee on Revenue Bill 1999 invites interested parties or individuals to express their views on the Revenue Bill 1999, which was introduced into the Legislative Council on April 21, 1999.

The purpose of the Bill is to amend a number of Ordinances to give effect to the revenue proposals in the 1999-2000 Budget. The major provisions include the proposals to increase the stamp duty rates on property transactions for properties costing over $3 million, the fixed penalties for traffic-related offences, the tolls for Cross-Harbour Tunnel and Lion Rock Tunnel, and on-street parking meter charges.

Organizations or persons who have views on the Bill are requested to send written submissions by May 7, 1999 (Friday) to the Clerk to Bills Committee on Revenue Bill 1999 at Legislative Council Secretariat, 3/F Citibank Tower, Garden Road, Hong Kong or by fax at 2877 8024.
