Mr Ronald ARCULLI, Chairman of the Finance Committee (FC) in office, chaired the meeting. He advised that the purpose of the meeting was to elect the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the FC for the 1999-2000 session.
Election of Chairman
2. Mr Ronald ARCULLI invited nominations for the chairmanship. Mr Ronald ARCULLI was nominated by Mr Martin LEE. As Mr ARCULLI was nominated for the chairmanship, Mr CHAN Kam-lam, Deputy Chairman of the FC in office, presided over the election of Chairman. The nomination of Mr ARCULLI was seconded by Mr Howard YOUNG. Mr ARCULLI accepted the nomination.
3. There being no other nomination, Mr CHAN Kam-lam declared that Mr Ronald ARCULLI was elected Chairman of the FC for the 1999-2000 session.
Election of Deputy Chairman
4. Mr Ronald ARCULLI took the chair and called for nominations for the deputy chairmanship. Mr CHAN Kam-lam was nominated by Mr LAU Hon-chuen and seconded by Mr Edward HO. Mr CHAN accepted the nomination.
5. There being no other nomination, the Chairman declared that Mr CHAN Kam-lam was elected Deputy Chairman of the FC for the 1999-2000 session.
Date of next meeting
6. The Chairman advised that the next meeting of the Committee would be held on 22 October 1999, at 2:30 pm.
7. There being no other business, the meeting ended at 2:05 pm.
