The Legislative Council (“LegCo”) Panel on Transport visited Hong Kong Productivity Council (“HKPC”) today (28 March) to learn about the latest development of HKPC and the innovation projects in various fields including the promotion of smart mobility.
Accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of HKPC, Mr Emil YU, Members first received a briefing on the game plan of HKPC by the Executive Director of HKPC, Mr Mohamed BUTT. Members then visited Hong Kong Automotive Platforms and Application Systems R&D Centre of HKPC and observed demonstrations of the E-Transporter as well as other robotics projects, to understand how HKPC had been strengthening the competitiveness and development of the relevant industry by commercialization of R&D results.
Members also toured the R&D Centres and exhibition halls to better understand the new techniques and R&D projects in the fields of the new industrialization, innovation and technology education and electromagnetic compatibility.
Members participating in the visit were the Panel Chairman Hon CHAN Han-pan, Deputy Chairman Ir Hon CHAN Siu-hung and Panel members Hon Michael TIEN Puk-sun, Hon CHAU Siu-chung, Hon YANG Wing-kit and Hon TANG Ka-piu; as well as non-Panel members Hon Andrew LAM Siu-lo and Hon Judy CHAN Kapui.
