The Legislative Council (“LegCo”) Members met with the Eastern District Council (“DC”) and Tsuen Wan DC members at the LegCo Complex today (25 April). They held in-depth discussions and exchanged views on issues related to community development and people’s concern.
During the meeting with the Eastern DC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on various issues, including strengthening the Eastern District’s capability and arrangements to cope with extreme weather, and understanding the latest progress of the improvement works of the stormwater drainage system in the Eastern District; waterfront development in the Eastern District and proposals to improve the facilities and management of the East Coast Boardwalk; as well as planning for community facilities in the district to meet the needs of residents.
The meeting was convened by Hon Frankie YICK Chi-ming. A total of 22 Members attended the meeting including Hon Tommy CHEUNG Yu-yan, Hon Jeffrey LAM Kin-fung, Hon CHAN Kin-por, Ir Dr Hon LO Wai-kwok, Hon SHIU Ka-fai, Hon Robert LEE Wai-wang, Ir Hon LEE Chun-keung, Hon Stanley NG Chau-pei, Prof Hon CHOW Man-kong, Hon Edward LEUNG Hei, Hon Kenneth LEUNG Yuk-wai, Hon CHAN Yuet-ming, Hon Rock CHEN Chung-nin, Ir Hon CHAN Siu-hung, Hon Benson LUK Hon-man, Hon Edmund WONG Chun-sek, Hon LAI Tung-kwok, Hon Carmen KAN Wai-mun, Dr Hon SO Cheung-wing, Hon SHANG Hailong and Prof Hon William WONG Kam-fai.
As for the meeting with the Tsuen Wan DC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on various issues, including the redevelopment plan for Tsuen Wan and exploring the possibility of increasing the planning plot ratio to enhance redevelopment incentives; the development and promotion of tourism resources and hotspots in the district to boost local economy and tie in with the concept of “tourism is everywhere”; as well as the proposed station location and related planning for the Central Rail Link, which connects Kam Tin of Yuen Long to Kowloon Tong, in the Tsuen Wan district.
The meeting was convened by Dr Hon CHAN Han-pan. A total of 16 Members attended the meeting including Ir Dr Hon LO Wai-kwok, Ir Hon LEE Chun-keung, Dr Hon Johnny NG Kit-chong, Hon Andrew LAM Siu-lo, Hon LEUNG Man-kwong, Hon Kenneth LEUNG Yuk-wai, Hon CHAN Yuet-ming, Hon Rock CHEN Chung-nin, Ir Hon CHAN Siu-hung, Hon Joephy CHAN Wing-yan, Hon Lillian KWOK Ling-lai, Hon Benson LUK Hon-man, Dr Hon TAN Yueheng, Hon SHANG Hailong and Prof Hon CHAN Wing-kwong.
