Duty visit to the Dongjiang River Basin from 14 to 15 April 2017

The Legislative Council Panel on Development conducted a duty visit to the Dongjiang River Basin in Guangdong Province from 14 to 15 April 2017.

The purpose of the duty visit is for Members to learn about the operation of the Dongjiang-Shenzhen Water Supply System as well as the measures taken by the Guangdong Provincial authorities in safeguarding the quality of Dongjiang water supplied to Hong Kong. In addition, Members will make use of the opportunity to exchange views with Guangdong Provincial authorities on issues of mutual concern related to the supply of Dongjiang water to Hong Kong.

The delegation is led by Hon Kenneth LAU Ip-keung, Deputy Chairman of the Panel. Panel members Dr Hon Helena WONG Pik-wan and Ir Dr Hon LO Wai-kwok are the deputy delegation leaders. Other participating Members include Hon CHAN Kin-por, Hon Paul TSE Wai-chun, Hon LEUNG Kwok-hung, Hon YIU Si-wing, Hon CHAN Han-pan, Hon LEUNG Che-cheung, Hon Kenneth LEUNG, Hon Alice MAK Mei-kuen, Dr Hon Junius HO Kwan-yiu, Hon Holden CHOW Ho-ding, Hon SHIU Ka-chun, Hon Tanya CHAN and Hon LAU Kwok-fan (Panel members), as well as Hon Charles Peter MOK and Dr Hon Elizabeth QUAT (non-Panel Members).
