Public Accounts Committee The Public Accounts Committee is one of the three standing committees of the Council. It is responsible for considering the Director of Audit's reports on the Government's accounts, as well as the results of value for money audits carried out on the Government and other organizations within the purview of public audit. Major work • • The Committee continued to examine the issues raised in Chapters 1 and 4 of theDirector of Audit's Report No. 68 on "Government's support andmonitoring of charities" and "Provision of district council funds for community involvement projects"; • • The Committee examined the Director of Audit's Report on the Accounts of the Government for the year ended 31 March 2017 and the Reports on the Results of Value for Money Audits (Reports Nos. 69 and 70); • • The Committee called for explanations and obtained evidence from public officers, themanagerial staff of public organizations and other relevant persons as deemed necessary; and Legislative Council Annual Report 2017-2018 39
