New Item "Grant to the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority for fitting out the temporary onscreen marking centre on Hong Kong Island"

(This item invites Members to approve the creation of the following commitments for grants to the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority for establishing a temporary onscreen marking centre on Hong Kong Island -

(a)a new commitment $16.0 million under Head 156 Government Secretariat : Education and Manpower Bureau Subhead 700 General non-recurrent for renting temporary accommodation for four years; and

(b)a new commitment of $5.9 million under Head 156 Government Secretariat : Education and Manpower Bureau Subhead 950 Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority for fitting out the temporary accommodation.)

4.FCR(2006-07)21NEW HEAD "SECRETARIAT, COMMISSIONER ON INTERCEPTION OF COMMUNICATIONS AND SURVEILLANCE"

(For the purpose of implementing the new regime for the regulation of interception of communications and covert surveillance after the passage of the Interception of Communications and Surveillance Bill, this item invites Members to approve the following changes to the 2006-07 Estimates, with effect from the date of coming into force of the legislation -

(a)creation of a new Head of Expenditure under the General Revenue Account entitled "Secretariat, Commissioner on Interception of Communications and Surveillance", with the Secretary of the Secretariat as the controlling officer; and

(b)creation of one Recurrent Account Subhead under this new Head of Expenditure.)
