(This item invites Members to approve a new commitment of $1 billion under Head 181 Trade and Industry Department for the setting up of a dedicated fund to provide funding support to assist Hong Kong enterprises in exploring and developing the Mainland market through developing brands, upgrading and restructuring their operations and promoting domestic sales in the Mainland.)

Subhead 106 Start-up loan for post-secondary education providers

(This item invites Members to approve -

(a)an extension of the ambit of the Start-up Loan Scheme to support the development of student hostels for the self-financing tertiary education sector;

(b)an increase of $2,000 million in the commitment for the start-up loan for post-secondary education providers under Loan Fund Head 252 – Loans to Schools/Teachers from $7,000 million to $9,000 million; and

(c)a start-up loan of $40 million to The Chinese University of Hong Kong for the operation of its School of Continuing and Professional Studies, under the Start-up Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Education Providers, from the Loan Fund.)

Subhead 872 Non-recurrent expenses reimbursements for Members of the Legislative Council

(This item invites Members to –

(a)approve enhancements to the remuneration package for Members of the Legislative Council with effect from the Fifth Term of the Legislative Council due to begin in October 2012;

(b)approve supplementary provision of $29.181 million under Head 112 Legislative Council Commission Subhead 366 Remuneration and reimbursements for Members of the Legislative Council to meet additional expenditure in 2012-13 arising from the above enhancements and the addition of ten Members in the Fifth Term; and

(c)approve the creation of a capital account commitment of $17.500 million under Head 112 Legislative Council Commission Subhead 872 Non-recurrent expenses reimbursements for Members of the Legislative Council for the combined provision for the Setting Up Expenses Reimbursement and the Information Technology and Communication Equipment Expenses Reimbursement for the Fifth Term.)
