LegCo Members' visit to the lots near No. 23 Coombe Road (with photos)
Four Legislative Council ("LegCo") Members conducted a site visit today (5 July) to the lots near No. 23 Coombe Road to follow up on a complaint against the rezoning application of a piece of land in the Green Belt adjacent to the Aberdeen Country Park for residential development.
Accompanied by representatives of the Commissioner for Heritage's Office of the Development Bureau; the Antiquities and Monuments Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department; the Planning Department; and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, Members visited a historic building with Grade 1 status at No. 23 Coombe Road and the lots to the north and south of the building. Members were briefed on the likely environmental impacts arising from the residential development on the two lots.
After the site visit, Members held a case conference with Government representatives in the LegCo Complex for further discussion of the case.
Members participating in the site visit included LegCo Redress System Duty Roster Member Hon WONG Kwok-hing (Convenor) and other invited Members, Dr Hon Kenneth CHAN Ka-lok, Dr Hon Fernando CHEUNG Chiu-hung and Hon SIN Chung-kai.
