Legislative Council ("LegCo") Joint Subcommittee on Long-term Care Policy ("Joint Subcommittee") conducted a site visit to the Caritas Medical Centre ("CMC") today (8 December) to better understand its palliative care service.

Members first received a briefing by CMC representatives on the operation of palliative care service and the daily work of the frontline healthcare staff.  Members then visited the palliative care ward and the Day Care Center.  Members also took the opportunity to exchange views on issues relating to palliative care service with the representatives of the Food and Health Bureau.

Members who participated in the site visit were the Chairman of the Joint Subcommittee, Dr Hon Fernando CHEUNG Chiu-hung, the Deputy Chairman of the Joint Subcommittee, Hon SHIU Ka-chun, as well as members of the Joint Subcommittee Hon LEUNG Yiu-chung and Dr Hon Pierre CHAN.

The Joint Subcommittee is a subcommittee formed under the LegCo Panel on Welfare Services and the LegCo Panel on Health Services.
