The Legislative Council ("LegCo") Subcommittee on Hospital Authority Ordinance (Amendment of Schedule 1) Order 2018 conducted a site visit today (5 March) to the Hong Kong Children's Hospital ("HKCH") in the Kai Tak Development Area to view the latest progress of the development of HKCH. Members of the Panel on Health Services are also invited to join the site visit.

Accompanied by Dr CHUI Tak-yi, Under Secretary for Food and Health and Dr Tony KO, Deputising Director (Cluster Services) of the Hospital Authority, Members first received a briefing on the latest progress of the development of HKCH by Dr Albert LO, Cluster Chief Executive of Kowloon Central Cluster of the Hospital Authority and Dr LEE Tsz-leung, Hospital Chief Executive of HKCH.   Members then visited the Specialist Out-patient Clinic, the Parents' Quarters, the Haematology & Oncology Ward, the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre and the Play Studio of HKCH to better understand the facilities and services to be provided by HKCH.

HKCH will serve as a tertiary specialist hospital for handling complex and rare paediatric cases which require multi-disciplinary management. HKCH will commence operation in the fourth quarter of 2018.
