Election of Chairman

Mr Ronald ARCULLI, Chairman for the 1995-96 session, invited nominations for the Chairman of the 1996-97 session. Mr Ronald ARCULLI was nominated by Mr IP Kwok-him, and seconded by Mr Henry TANG Ying-yen and Mr CHEUNG Man-kwong. Mr Ronald ARCULLI accepted the nomination.

2. There being no other nomination, Mr Ronald ARCULLI was elected as Chairman of the Establishment Subcommittee (ESC) for the 1996-97 session.

Election of Deputy Chairman

3. The Chairman called for nominations for the Deputy Chairman. Mr Anthony CHEUNG Bing-leung who was not present at the meeting, was nominated by Mr CHEUNG Man-kwong, and seconded by Mr IP Kwok-him. Members noted that Mr CHEUNG Bing-leung had agreed to the nomination. There being no other nomination, Mr Anthony CHEUNG Bing-leung was declared elected as Deputy Chairman of the ESC for the 1996-97 session.

Date of next meeting

4. The Chairman advised members that ESC meetings would normally be held on Wednesdays at 10:45 a.m. and the first regular meeting was tentatively scheduled for 30 October 1996. The schedule of meetings for the 1996-97 session would be forwarded to members.

[Post-meeting note : As the Chairman would not be able to chair the meeting on 30 October due to other commitments, the first regular meeting will be held on 6 November 1996 at 9:00 a.m.]

5. The Committee was adjourned at 2:05 p.m.
