The Authority regularly reviews its Codes of Practice. During the year, the Authority approved the revision of the Generic Code of Practice on Television Technical Standards (Technical Code), by appending a new chapter in the Technical Code to specify the technical standards for DTT programme services to ensure satisfactory reception of DTT services by the public. The revision, drawn up in consultation with the TA, sets out the technical requirements for video signals, audio signals, electronic programme guide, and subtitle, etc. of the DTT programme service offered by the two domestic free television programme service licensees.

During the reporting period, the Authority also invited public views on its review of the provisions on in-programme promotions and announcement of programme changes in the Code of Practice for television programmes.  Review of the above revisions has been scheduled for the Authority's consideration in the 4th quarter of 2008.
