At its meeting on 7 and 8 July 2010, the Legislative Council passed the following two bills: (1) Companies (Amendment) Bill 2010, with amendments moved by the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury at Committee stage. (2) Business Registration (Amendment) Bill 2010, with amendments moved by the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury at Committee stage. At the same meeting, the Council passed the following two resolutions: (1) Resolution moved by the Secretary for Security relating to the Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (South Africa) Order. (2) Resolution moved by the Secretary for Security under the United Nations (Anti-Terrorism Measures) Ordinance. The following four motions not intended to have legislative effect were also passed by the Council: (1) Motion on "Report of the Subcommittee on Poverty Alleviation", moved by Hon Frederick FUNG Kin-kee. (2) Motion on "Enhancing the administration of tax policy in Hong Kong", moved by Hon Paul CHAN Mo-po as amended by Hon Mrs Sophie LEUNG LAU Yau-fun. (3) Motion on "Utilizing young people's power of civic participation", moved by Dr Hon Samson TAM Wai-ho. (4) "Motion for the adjournment of the Council", moved by Dr Hon Margaret NG.
