| Television and Radio Consultative
Scheme
The role of the Television and Radio Consultative Scheme
is to provide qualitative input in the Authority's public
consultation process. Members are appointed from across the
territory's 18 geographical districts and they meet regularly
in the form of focus groups to discuss topical subjects relating
to broadcasting standards. Their views help to supplement
the quantitative findings obtained from the Broadcasting Services
Survey. During the reporting period, a total of 29 focus group
meetings were organised. Members' views were sought on minimum
segment duration requirement for domestic free television
programmes, broadcasting time of the late news bulletins on
domestic free television programme services, regulation of
undesirable expressions, accuracy requirement for programme
promotional materials, and regulation of title sponsorship
on domestic free television programme services. The views
collected would also form parts of the consultation process
of the Authority in its regular review and revision of the
Codes of Practice.
